Fiebre — Spotify Reggaetón Playlist Identity

Case study by: Sulamita Javier, Gonzalo Peña, Chago García

Fiebre is Spotify’s definitive Reggaetón playlist for summer—an unapologetic celebration of rhythm, movement, and heat. Our challenge was to create a visual identity that felt as alive, sweaty, and magnetic as the music itself. We wanted to honor Reggaetón’s roots in resistance, sensuality, and diaspora, while making space for its global, borderless impact today.

We began by decoding the essence of the genre through three conceptual pillars:

  • Global Pulse: A rhythm that transcends nations—speaking to Latinx identity, Afro-Caribbean heritage, and diasporic pride.

  • Heat Wave: Reggaetón isn’t just heard—it’s felt. It simmers in the body, igniting sensuality, embodiment, and liberation.

  • Rebellious Rhythm: Once marginalized, now magnetic—Reggaetón’s defiant beats carry a legacy of cultural resistance and power.

At the core of Fiebre is Perreo—a dance that blurs the line between seduction and rebellion. Inspired by that energy, we stripped the word to its bones. By dropping one letter, Perreo became Perro—a raw, animalistic expression of the genre’s primal drive.

Visually, the identity leans into saturated textures, bold typography, and a kinetic sense of motion. It’s designed to feel alive—sweaty, glowing, and impossible to ignore. Fiebre is not just a playlist—it’s a body in motion, a community in heat, a sound that refuses to sit still.
